ABOUT US
Granby & Sutton WI
We formed in 1942 and have around 30 members.
We meet once a month at the Village Hall (check out the location here). Our meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month. We start at 7.30pm and the meeting usually finishes between 9pm and 9.30pm depending on what we are doing. The meeting will involve a few announcements relating to WI business and some sort of entertainment. This could be a speaker, a demonstration, a debate or an activity where you can try out a craft for example. There is always time for a cup of tea and a chat with friends too.
You are welcome to come along and try us out as a guest and are assured of a warm welcome from our friendly members.
Drop us a line to tell us you are coming and we will look out for you arriving and make sure someone shows you the ropes.

The Belvoir Group
Granby & Sutton WI is part of the local collection of WIs known as "The Belvoir Group". The members are:-
Bottesford & District WI

Langar cum Barnstone WI
Orston & Thoroton WI
We get together occasionally to host larger events that might be beyond the means of a single WI. It also widens our circle of WI friends to meet up with our neighbours in this way.

Nottinghamshire Federation
All the WIs in Nottinghamshire come under the Nottinghamshire Federation based at Newark.
Nottinghamshire Federation of Women's Institutes arrange a variety of events for members throughout the year. These range from walks and lunches to gliding and go karting and just about everything in-between.
To check out the events currently of offer go to the events page on the Notts Fed web pages by clicking HERE.
You can book directly with Newark HQ using the downloaded form, the form in your Hornblower magazine or by phone if time is tight. However, it is better to book through your WI as there may be others interested in attending the same event and you can book and travel together to save money (just one postage charge for tickets and shared petrol costs) and have someone to share the experience with.
It is always worth ringing up and asking if an event is fully booked even if the closing date has passed as there are occasionally spare places they will be glad to fill at the last minute.
The Notts Federation Team are based at County House:-
